Honestly , I was skeptical about this place given the reviews. However , after my experience I’ll say that mine was considerably different from others who have reviewed this business. I booked online an hour prior to picking up the car, price was fair and location was not too far away in walk from my apartment. This is a family-owned business , they were nice and courteous and proceed to explain me quickly what I had to do and sign. Note that there is a deposit like everywhere. I was provided my car, and was shown spots that were damaged already. Make sure you double check everything and take your time. They aren’t there to scam you or anything but you do want everything that you see to be added as evidenced and safety net. Two day after , I gave back the car with no worries or problems. I was greeted quickly and they proceeded to do an analysis of the car. Fortunately , I babied the car and I walked away with no damage or infraction. Thus , they proceed to refund my deposit and thank me for doing business with them. Therefore , I could argue that this is a fair and safe place to rent a car. The people are genuine nice and courteous. Service is rapid. However , as in every car rental , take your time to read your documents and to inspect the car with them. Lastly , make sure you’re careful with their car either while parking on those smalls streets (ahem parallel parking) or tiny roads.

The gentleman who helped us at Avis reconciled us with the business. Three years prior we had had a very different experience. This time we were met by a courteous, very helpful and knowledgeable person who worked extra hard to give us the best deal for our month rental with a return to Charles De Gaule. Thank you for his great service.

After 18 days of rental, when we returned the car, we were asked to pay an additional 60€!, because there was some sand on the floor from our shoes!. Beside that the car was completly clean. Eventualy after long discussions, and some cleanup I had to make by myself, they waved us the extra charge. In the many years I have been renting cars, in many countries, I never had such a bizzare requirement, and bad experience from the rental agency

Given the bad reviews which were the source of trepidation on my part, thought I should add in my own experience, which was totally positive. The clerk and I worked through our language barrier with some bemusement and the car I’d arranged online the night before was ready to go and quickly dispatched.

Rude agents in the location. Made a reservation and prepaid. When i arrived there were no cars. In order to get a refund without paying the $150 cancelation fee, i had to call and speak to multiple levels of employees for them to “authorize” my refund. Will never use Avis again.
